CAR, scooter, and motorcycle clubs in the South West have been invited by Dartmoor Railway to take part in their first vintage vehicle weekend on August 11 and 12. The large car park at Okehampton Station will be the venue for the event which will take place between 10am and 4pm on both days. Judging will take place and prize certificates will be awarded. On the evening of August 10 there will also be a ?fish and chip? special train from Okehampton Station to Meldon, and the following day a ?sunset special? train will run with real ale and a jazz band on board. Both the station?s buffet and its model railway shop will be open throughout both days, and at Meldon, the coach buffet ? which looks up to Yes Tor and is by the famous Meldon Viaduct ? will be open to serve further refreshments. Plans are also currently being formed to follow the vintage vehicle weekend with a commercial vehicle event at Okehampton Station on September 9.
