AFTER 12 years of hard work, Harrowbarrow and Metherell's new woodland park was opened at the weekend.

The park, voted a favourite in the People's Millions TV programme, winning £50,000 of lottery funding, is the only off-road play area for children in the village and is situated next to the village hall.

The opening was incorporated into May Day celebrations in the village and in attendance was a team from the Big Lottery Fund and a coach from Plymouth Argyle, helping children with their football skills.
