THE villagers of Brentor are making preparations for a firework and bonfire display on Monday evening, to raise funds for much needed play equipment for the children of the village.
The village is currently a hive of activity as residents are emptying their lofts and sheds in order to add to the pile of wood that is gradually appearing in the corner of the playing field.
A campaign is underway to co-ordinate and organise home-made soup, French bread and tray bakes.
Members of the community have pledged to build the bonfire and children have been busy gathering sticks and wood around the village lanes.
Brentor's very own pyrotechnician is amassing his box of tricks ready for the big event starting at 6.30pm at Brentor Playing Field.
Entrance to the event is £5 per adult, £2 per child and £12 per family.
