THE beauty of the Tamar Valley is about to be seen by millions of people in Japan with a new film being broadcast in June.

A TV production recently spent two weeks in the area, filming a programme about the Tamar Valley train from Gunnislake to Plymouth.

The film is expected to feature the National Trust estate of Cotehele, the industrial history of the river and how it has changed and artist Joseph Turner's fascination with the Tamar Valley.

Calstock parish councillor and co-author of the book Turner in the Tamar Valley Dorothy Kirk was interviewed for the film.
