Carlsberg South Western League Wadebridge 0 Tavistock 3 THIS victory over the ?Bridgers? saw the Lambs creep up to sixth in the league with games in hand over teams above and below them. Mark Conday was missing due to work commitments and John Hajiyianni replaced him in what was otherwise an unchanged side at Goonhavern with Shane Krac returning from suspension. The Lambs started brightly but the home side almost took the lead after 13 minutes when Chris Woolstencroft raced away down the wing to send in a low shot. It seemed to be curling into the net but hit the near-post and went for a goal kick. Woolstencroft should have done better on the half-hour as he again raced away down the right and bore down on goal but he side-footed the ball wide of Andy Meeds and the goal from close range. Tavistock?s Glynn Hobbs had a chance on the stroke of half-time when he burst clear of the defence but his shot glanced off the angle of crossbar and upright. It was not to be Woolstencroft?s night as he glanced another headed chance wide five minutes into the second half. The home side were to pay dearly for this and the Lambs finally went ahead a minute later. Gary Williams took the ball forward to Hobbs to skip past his marker out wide and send it is across the face of the goal. Steer came in and tapped into an unguarded net. Ten minutes later, a home side corner saw the ball cleared upfield and Hobbs got a head to it to send him round the keeper and slot home. With 15 minutes left the Lambs sewed the game up. Will Stringer let fly but the ball was blocked and fell to Dave Hallett to send in a low cross. Steer reacted quickly to chest the ball over the line from close range.
