THERE's an opportunity to abseil down the huge Victorian bridge at Meldon, Viaduct, near Okehampton this spring.
The event will be taking place on Sunday, March 24, in aid of Marie Curie Nurses throughout Devon.
Regional Event Manager Jon Duckham said: 'This is a fantastic opportunity to define 2013 as the year you challenge yourself and do something truly unique.
'Set in one of the most stunning locations England has to offer, this abseil is going to be an amazing experiences for those who take part. This is the first time we have organised an abseil from this bridge but it is certainly one of the most exhilarating and historic places we have used."
No previous abseiling experience is necessary as a team of trained instructors will be onsite, literally showing you the ropes! The event is open to anyone aged 16 years upwards.
It costs just £10 to register (which includes all equipment and professional instruction) and there is a suggested minimum sponsorship of £100. Sign up on your own, with friends or with a group of colleagues and make this an experience you'll never forget! Places are limited so apply early to avoid disappointment.
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides nursing care to patients with terminal cancer and other illnesses, completely free of charge, so they can spend their final days at home with the people they love.
