YELVERTON Vets played a three ball competition — 2 scores to count on May 26.

The winners were Peter O`Neill, Peter Taylor and John Soutar 78 points, closely followed by Derek Maughan, Richard Edwards and David Kiver 77points. Third place went to Graham Plumb, Keith Stokes and Dennis Voisin 73 points.

On May 24 the Vets played an away Match against Bigbury and had a win 3 ½ to 2 ½ .

The weather was really good, the course and greens were in fine condition, which provided an opportunity to play some good golf. All the matches were hard fought, Yelverton won 2 matches 4 and 3 and 2 and 1, Bigbury won 1 match 2 and 1 and 3 matches were halved. Yelverton Vets had won the match at home earlier in the month by 4 games to 2.
