OKEHAMPTON Golf Club veterans? section held their autumn meeting on September 25 ? again it was a good entry to this popular event, which was a three ball one to count medal. Winning visitors were J Lee, R Jefford, and A Bishop from East Devon with 58 net. Second: J Butterworth, G Farmer, and D Mytton from Churston with net 59. Third was J Pitts-Tucker, R Beer, and T Neve from Saunton with 59 net. Victors in the home section were Dan James (vets captain), George James and Del Nash with net 57, second was David Keir, Ken Peckham and Roger Slee with net. Third was Ted Boswell, Ron Uren, and Dave Arney with 59 net. Saturday saw the clubs men?s invitation and another good entry with M Aggett and his guest M Davey winning on the back 9 with 45 points. Second was P Macdonald and guest R Faulkner, also with 45 points. Third J Whitehouse and guest P Ham 44 points (back 9), fourth, also 44 points, R Metherall and guest N James.
