THE popular Bere Ferrers Art Group Summer Exhibition was opened last Friday by renowned local artist Richard Mabey.
The art group consists of an enthusiastic band of artists who meet weekly during the autumn and winter and work in all media — oils, acrylic, watercolour, encaustic, pastels, etc.
They are greatly assisted by visiting tutors who invariably pass on their knowledge to the artists.
This year there are more than 60 exhibits on display. The exhibition is open daily between 11am and 6pm until Tuesday, August 13, when it will close at 3pm. It is at the Old Coach House, Bere Ferrers; admission is free and most of the exhibits are for sale.
The Bere Ferrers Art Group will be holding another exhibition in the Old Pump House Café at Lopwell Dam, near Maristow, from Saturday, September 7 until Sunday, September 15 from 11am to 5pm. Again, admission is free, but with the added delights of the range of refreshments available at the café!
