VANDALS attacked areas of Simmons Park last week, damaging plants and flower beds and wrecking a newly-built section of wall.
Okehampton town clerk Don Bent said the attack occurred some time on Thursday night and Friday night.
He said: ?That particular piece of wall had only just been completed ? they reckon it?s going to take about a week to put right, it?s so badly damaged.?
Mr Bent said the senseless damage was infuriating for council staff who work so hard in the park.
The incidents of vandalism have been reported to police ? any witnesses who can help officers should call Okehampton Police Station.
