Plym Valley 6

Okehampton Columbines 4

ANOTHER exciting end to end match saw Okehampton come away with no points, but this time the game was lost in the second half.

Okehampton started well and good interplay from Kelly Cooper and Jo Moppett carved out the opening for Cooper to score. Plym Valley fought back quickly to equalise.

Moppett continued to run the Valley defence ragged on the right wing and her cross set up Viv Weatherington to knock in the second.

At this stage, the Okehampton forward movement was flowing and they went further ahead when Alex Collins slipped the ball to Sue Stanbury who rifled it into goal.

Valley pulled one back just before half-time.

Valley looked the side who wanted the ball most in the second half and their determination saw them score two goals to take the lead for the first time, before Moppett got an equaliser.

Claire Smith and Debbie Pritchard played strongly in their shared position of left half, and were ably supported by Jane Jones at left back.

Okehampton gave away too many free hits and Valley scored two more goals.

This week Okehampton play Tavistock at home.
