PEOPLE were able to see 14 flood protection products designed to safeguard homes and businesses at a special event organised by West Devon Borough Council.
The flood forum took place last week at the council's offices in Tavistock.
Residents were invited to drop in and speak to a range of experts.
The Environment Agency, the Met Office, Devon County Council and the borough council's senior engineer and emergency planning team were on hand to give advice and information.
People could also browse a series of stands exhibiting the latest innovations to help people protect their property, including flood barriers, flood proof door guards, airbrick covers and alternatives to sandbags.
Simon Crowther was at the forum with his company, Flood Protection Solutions.
He said: 'We found the flood forum very useful in helping to raise awareness. Many people simply don't know what products are available to protect homes and businesses from flooding and this event has been able to offer people some ideas.'
