AFTER a difficult season, not helped by the foot and mouth crisis, which resulted in all matches being cancelled since February, North Tawton RFC held their annual meeting.
But what could have been all doom and gloom instead saw a meeting with a positive upbeat attitude.
After being greeted by president Mike Thwaites, the election of officers took place.
This proved to be a fresh and new forward looking committee, which augurs well, even though North Tawton are in league division Devon 3 this coming season.
The new chairman and vice-chairman are respectively Chris Fear and Graham King; the secretary, Gill Hoggins and treasurer Kerry Skinner who was thanked for his tireless efforts in keeping the club solvent in difficult circumstances.
Fixture secretary is Sarah Quick, chairman of the playing committee is Pete Hoggins while house and grounds is Dave Quick.
The next committee meeting will be on Monday July 2, while a players' meeting to elect the captains has been called for Tuesday August 14.
Training with Danny North will start on Tuesday July 17 and thence on every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm.
Old and new members will be more than welcome.
Committee members: Malcolm and Joe Fewings, Neil Davies, Brian Crisp, William Speak., Paul Ayris, Kevin Avery, Martin Hann, Trigger Poynton, Adrian Pierce and John Wale.
