NORTHLEW Amateur Dramatic Society (NADS) have been putting the finishing touches on their latest production during dress rehearsals this week.
The group are staging Under the Doctor, a sketch by Elaine Peak, on Saturday, February 2 in the Victory Hall.
The production is centred around the waiting room in a makeshift doctor's surgery in a village hall. A vibrant cast including an over-enthusiastic nurse, grumpy farmer and expectant mother will all have to deal with their less than diligent doctor.
The evening promises to be a 'shocking' one, as part of the funds raised will be donated towards the purchase of a second defibrillator for the village. A spokesman from the South West Ambulance Trust will be speaking on the night about the vital support the Northlew First Responders provide in an emergency. Lyn Taylor, chair of NADS will also be saying a few words about how those interested can help keep the dramatic society going.
The group's annual pantomime was cancelled this year due to insufficient number of members, but plans are in hand for the society's first full length play later this year.
Tickets are limited, though any left unsold will be available for purchase on the door. To buy your tickets in advance, call Martin Perry on 01409 221376.
