I WOULD like to take this opportunity to offer my apologies to the irresponsible and callous walkers of the uncontrolled dog that knocked me to the ground on the common above the Ring at Tavistock on the afternoon of Saturday June 25.
I must have damaged their pet as it knocked me to the ground, breaking my sunglasses, injuring my nose and dislocating my finger, as no sooner had they dragged me to my feet than they scuttled hastily away leaving me dazed, bleeding and totally disorientated in the middle of the moor.
As an old age pensioner suffering with Parkinson's and osteoporosis and recovering from a fractured pelvis, had it not been for the kind actions of Mrs Lucy Jones, a passing Good Samaritan, my fate would have been dire.
So I would like to thank Mrs Jones for her kindness and assistance.
Gladys Bennett
