Okehampton U16s 31

IN the first match of the season Okehampton U16s started the match strongly with a try by Dean Folland.

After some good work by the forwards this was closely followed by Daniel Lee crossing the line for a try which was converted by Liam Wilkins. The game was a little bit stop/start until Deane Andrew scored Okes' third try, again converted by Liam. Shortly before half time Chiefs came back into the game with a well worked converted try.

The second half was a closer game with both sets of backs defending well. After the Okes passed the ball quickly out wide Alex Arthurs scored in the corner. Marcus Garrett then forced his was across the line for the last try converted by Liam.

There was some good play by both sides — with some fast penetrating runs by Chiefs winger number 14 and some strong running by Oke's Luke Dennis and tackles by Dean Abrahms. The Okes' youngsters did exceptionally well in winning most line-outs.
