MR U15s Tavistock . 31

Kingsbridge . . . . . . . . 5

A CONVINCING victory was run up by a very makeshift Tavistock side that due to injuries ended up with only 13 players on the pitch.

The scoring was started by Ewing who from close to his own 10m line ran strongly through the Kingsbridge defence to touchdown beneath the posts with Campbell converting.

A few minutes later and Lawson made a similar run, down the left wing to score in the corner.

The side then seemed to lose its focus and a series of forward attacks brought Kingsbridge their only score making it 12-5 at halftime.

Early in the second half a poor clearance kick by Kingsbridge was caught by Frost who forced his way through to make the try - a score that took much of the heart out of the opponents.

Lawson made a long run from his own 22 to score his second try with Clancy converting and in the last play of the game Burton intercepted, ran the length of the field and scored under the posts for Vella to convert.

Though the defence was not much called upon, there were excellent tackles from Edwards and Stewart in particular; newcomer Maund held his position well and the returned Broome put in a good effort in an uncustomary role as lock.
