TAVISTOCK Girls? Football Club entered two teams, U10s and U12s, in the Horrabridge Girls? Football tournament.
The U10s of Robyn Hammond, Rebecca Rose, Sian Langman, Vanessa Davey, Sophie Bassett and Frankie Foster played superbly, winning through to the semi-finals top of their group.
They met Staddiscombe in the semis and after a hard battle conceded one goal that put them out.
The U12s had a tough task, having to play each team three times, but the team of Chloe Bassett, Sarah Barrett, Amy Campbell, Clarice Payne, Heidi Davies, Joy Page, Kim Davey and Robynne Honey also went through to the semis top of their group.
They met Activate B and won 5-0.
They then met Activate A in the finals and it was a hard fought battle. Kim Davey scored in the fist half to put Tavistock in the lead, but in the second Activate equalised to give a draw at full time.
A penalty shootout would decide the match and the takers were Kim Davey, Robynne Honey, Clarice Payne, Amy Campbell and Joy Page. All five scored their penalties with Activate missing one, so when Joy Page scored hers Tavistock U12s won the tournament.
