AN Okehampton charity has been boosted by the arrival of two new young full-time music workers.

Wren Trust is a community music organisation promoting traditional and world music in and around Devon.

Rebecka Lyons and Nick Wyke joined the team this month as community musicians. They are contracted for a year as part of the Mosaic Music project, funded by the National Foundation of Youth Music.

They will work towards running music workshops, researching traditional music and planning musical events with children and young people.

Wren Trust now has eight workers and has a busy year ahead. Its first major event will be the Baring Gould study break and folk festival which runs for a week from October 21.
