TWO live nativity services are to be held at St Eustachius’ Church, Tavistock, on Christmas Eve at 4pm and 6pm, such is their popularity.

There will be the journey to Bethlehem with Mary and Joseph and the donkey, the arrival at the inn, Jesus’ birth in the stable, the angelic host and the shepherds with their sheep. 

Assistant curate, the Rev Sue Tucker, said: ‘It would be really lovely if the children dressed up in their nativity costumes, which they have from their nativity services at school, and as we re-tell the story of the nativity, they would all have a part to play. If you don’t have a costume please just come as you are.

‘Everyone is very welcome to join us as we re-tell the story of this very special night when we greet the baby Jesus, born to be the King of Kings, the Prince of Peace and the Light of the World.’
