THE 100 year old Belstone Village Hall is the setting for a fascinating history exhibition taking place next weekend.

Originally built in 1910 as 'The Church Room', the bulding became the village hall in 1957 when the committee bought it from the church for £275.

Since then it has become the focal point for many village activities, from pantomimes to pudding clubs, from Scottish dancing to kick-boxing, and from sheep scab meetings to perfume parties.

A century of Belstone history will be celebrated in an exhibition of photos, newspaper reports, first-hand memories and film shows to be held in the hall between 10.30am and 5pm on Saturday September 18 and Sunday September 19.  Also on show will be the 10-metre long 'Belstone Interactive Timeline' where visitors can add their own significant dates and predict the future for the village.  Admission is free with tea and cakes on sale throughout.
