TAVISTOCK Athletic Club Juniors recently travelled to Dawlish for the final meeting in the regular Devon Sportshall League. The league is especially designed for athletes from the age of eight and consists of the normal athletic events adapted for young performers. The Devon League consists of five meetings through the winter and all athletic clubs in Devon are eligible to enter. Over the winter a strong contingent of more than 40 children from the Tavistock club have run, jumped and thrown their way to overall victory in the series, beating teams from Plymouth, Exeter and North Devon in the process. This is the fourth time, and the third consecutive year, that the club have won this series. In addition to winning the overall trophy the club?s young athletes also won three of the age group trophies in the Under 10 Girls, Under 11 Girls and the Under 15 Boys. There were also numerous individual achievements. Tavistock AC junior section meets on a Tuesday evening at Tavistock Community College.
