Cornish Guardian East Cornwall Premier League

Launceston . . . . . . . . . . . .2

Callington Town . . . . . . . 3

THIS match had everything! Five goals, end to end action, a fair slice of controversy throughout, and a game that was played at a pace that would have sidelined many a team.

Callington were bolstered by the return of Adam Reid from suspension and the young midfielder did not disappoint with a performance as good as any he had put in before.

Playing down the slope, Callington were soon encamped in the home side?s half and should have been ahead before they eventually broke the deadlock through Pete Floyd who chased onto a through ball and, after beating the attention of his marker, fired the ball home from 18 metres to put the visitors ahead.

The second period saw the home side use the slope to their advantage.

This, combined with some very controversial bookings and decisions from the official, unsettled Callington and with 65 minutes gone, Ashley Rowlands compounded the situation when he fired past the keeper to equalise.

Within a minute, however, Town had regained the lead when Wayne Mousella fired home after good work on the right.

Back came Launceston and a period of pressure saw them level matters again with 10 minutes to go through Dan Tulley.

But Callington were not to be outdone and within five minutes they had regained the lead for a decisive third time when Mousella fired home from a right wing cross to send the visiting fans into ectasy and give them a deserved victory that confirms their mid table position.
