AT the Devon County Ladies Golf Association Championships held at Yelverton Golf Club, Tavistock Golf Club ladies had a successful weekend. 

Nicky Gawman won the Lloyd-Williams Salver and the team of Belinda McSherry, Nicky Gawman and Jayne Wright were the team handicap winners.  Jayne was also a semi-finalist in the county championship having been beaten by the eventual winner from Tiverton.

In the Devon County Golf Union's Amateur Championships, held at Tavistock GC, the Tavistock youngsters also did well with teenager James Macfarlane winning the Presidents Cup with an excellent nett 70 and fourth on countback was junior Will Stenhouse with nett 71.  Will was also third in the Cooper Cup on countback with a nett 71 from Gary Pumford and junior Sam Jessop.
