As the Tavistock town councillor responsible for the introduction of the Trim Trail in the Meadows I wish to respond to David Chanter's rather curmudgeonly letter last week.
If he had waited until the official opening last Thursday he would have found all the matting was now in place, the start/finish has stretch/cool down areas and each station has instructions attached to them.
I consulted extensively with Chris Dykes at Bodyzone and met with Mr Chanter personally to outline my plans (something he has clearly forgotten). I have used the Trim Trail extensively and spoken with numerous users (young and old), all have praised the initiative. Indeed, on the day of opening a class from Whitchurch Primary School were using it as part of their science project.
This was never meant to be a sophisticated fitness facility such as that offered by Bodyzone, this is a free to use, multi-age set of exercise stations which I am pleased to say is going down a storm.
