Tributes to rescue group member

FELLOW members of the Dartmoor Rescue Group paid tribute to Brian Britten, who died on Tuesday night during training.

Mr Britten, 59, from Eggbuckland, was a member of the Plymouth section of the DRG. He collapsed during an exercise on the moor east of Sheepstor at about 8pm. It is believed he had a heart attack.

He was conveyed by police helicopter to Derriford Hospital, but pronounced dead on arrival.

Bud Francis, Tavistock section controller, said: 'He was a well-respected member of the group, a sad loss for all the team, especially Plymouth group.'
