TIM Mitchell from Tavistock Triathlon Club had a superb event at Roadford Lake.
The triathlon consisted of a 750m swim in the spectacular lake, a 20km cycle over an undulating course going around the lake and then a hilly off road run course of 5km.
There were 80 entrants in the sprint triathlon and Tim came 12th in a time of 1hour 20 min — which is superb as this is Tim's first full season in the sport!
He said 'Apart from leaking goggles, getting my wetsuit zip stuck and the chain coming off on my bike I had a great time! Next year I would like to step up to the longer distance race, it was a really good event.'
Tavistock Triathlon Club is holding an Aquathon at Kelly College which consists of a 400m pool swim and a 5k hilly off road run on June 11 at 2pm. Application forms are available from Clare Short.
