THE fifth Yelverton Community Christmas Tree Festival has raised over £640 for the fabric of Rock Methodist Church and the organisers expressed thanks to everyone who contributed to this splendid effort.

Particular thanks were extended to sponsors and decorators of all the trees in Rock Methodist Church which impressed over 200 visitors during the six-day festival.

The trees were individually decorated, expressing the theme appropriate to the company or organisation and visitors were invited to vote for their favourite; the winning adults tree was decorated by Darling Gowns; second Crafty Girls and third Yelverton Scottish Dancers and Beau.

St Andrew’s School, Buckland Monachorum were once again the popular choice in the young people’s section, followed by 1st Yelverton Brownies, 1st Yelverton Rainbows and a tie for fourth place between Penmoor Nursery and Meavy School.
