A SPECIAL meeting is being held in Okehampton next week, to discuss ways to improve transport in West Devon. Better transport will be on the agenda at the next meeting of the Okehampton and Area Senior Council for Devon, to be held on Tuesday, May 13 in the Ockment Centre at 10am. Each of the senior council groups in Devon have been charged with raising issues on transport in their area and will report back to the SCfD's Transport Group with their findings. The SCfD's Transport Group will then lobby at a regional and national level on the different transport issues that have been raised by the individual councils. The groups will be looking at how transport can deliver better outcomes for the environment, how congestion can be eased and how transport can be made more accessible. The meeting is for the over 50s, with all welcome to attend. The senior council would also welcome any comments to pass forward.
