WALKERS from this year’s Discovery Trail Challenge in the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty have raised £2,200 for chosen charity, Living Options Devon.

The challenge covered a route of 15-miles along some of the country’s finest landscape.

The AONB team, which cares for the landscape of the Tamar Valley, has recently celebrated 20 years since it was officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, while Living Options Devon is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Registered charity, Living Options Devon, runs the Countryside Mobility scheme that provides the ‘Tramper’ (all terrain scooter) for use by people with limited mobility, enabling them to enjoy the Tamar Trails. The group also offers a wide range of services and projects that support people with disabilities across Devon.

Neil Warren, manager of the scheme, said: ‘We know from the feedback received how much of a difference to people’s quality of life it makes to be able to explore the countryside, whether alone or with friends and family and so we’re extremely grateful to Tamar Valley AONB, the walkers and sponsors for all their support.’
