THE traders at Tavistock Pannier Market joined in with the fundraising efforts that have been taking place in Tavistock recently in the light of the Haiti disaster.

The market traders organised a tombola at the market last Saturday to raise money for the cause.

The town mayor, Mandy Govier, offered her help with the fundraising in the morning, and at the end of the day, the traders had raised £538 for the Haiti disaster fund.

Market traders Shaun McDermott from Pens and Moor, and Roger the Watchman also donated £185 to the Haiti Appeal.

The money was raised from their monthly charity quiz night at the British Legion.

The market traders have also planned to hold a raffle for the cause next month.
