THERE will be no ban on drinking in public in Callington for the next six months at least, the town council decided at its meeting last week.
A designation order to introduce a ban had been considered, but councillors decided to let the matter rest for six months to see how the recently appointed Police Community Support Officer improved the situation.
Concern was also expressed that in other towns where a ban had been introduced, the problem had tended to be pushed out to other areas.
