CALLINGTON Town's season is building nicely, both on and off the pitch.
The four adult sides from the East Cornwall club are busy preparing for the new season which, for three of them, starts August 20/21.
Manager Lee Beer has some new faces both in the team and on the sidelines as they prepare for the visit of Newquay on August 20. Lee has been joined by former Callington player Geoff Battams as assistant manager.
The second team are away to Camelford in the East Cornwall League on August 20. Steve Blatchford has been busy building on the squad who last week beat Hooe Rovers 7-1.
Promotion has seen the Callington Town Ladies taking a giant step to the South West Womens Football League with opposition as far away as Penzance and Taunton.
The final team, which plays in the third division of the Duchy League, start their campaign in September but new manager Dan Smith is already well into training with his side.
Off the pitch, the club are busy building their new clubhouse which they hope will be operational during the season. The project has very much been a self build project with vice chairman Steve Woolley and his team of volunteers, together with help from local businesses such as Shipton Roofers, working every weekend to gradually see the building emerge.
The club are urgently looking for club linesman for the Peninsula side for the coming season. They will provide the kit, training and also provide a match fee and travel for the successful applicant and anyone interested is asked to contact club secretary Nick Smith on 07764154760.
