OUTDOOR centres in West Devon have jumped at the chance to help raise more than £3,500 for the BBC's Children in Need charity.
Tree Surfers, the high-octane, adrenaline-filled outdoor centre at Gulworthy donated a high ropes course experience for those brave enough to enjoy swinging around the treetops of the Tamar Valley.
Adventure Okehampton have offered another fantastic prize which is not even open to the public yet. The Big Oke Abseil is a brand new experience which sees the brave abseil backwards 100ft off Meldon Viaduct.
The Dartmoor Partnership was asked by BBC Magazines if some of their members would like to offer some mind blowing prizes in order to raise money for Children in Need.
As well as the prizes donated by Tree Surfers and Adventure Okehampton, Ashburton Cookery School gave a one day cookery course.
Will Allan of the Dartmoor Partnership said: 'BBC Children in Need is such a well-known organization that raises money for fantastic courses, helping children who need help the most.
'Being able to get involved and offer these great prizes is a luxury that many aren't able to do right now, especially with the economy the way it is.
'It is important though that businesses and people are still able to help charities and being able to help Children in Need is the best feeling possible.
'I understand that over £3,500 was raised in just one day which is astonishing.
'I'm just proud that we were able to help them reach this figure.'
The Dartmoor Partnership is the official tourism and trade organization for Dartmoor and has been promoting the National Park and supporting local businesses for more than 30 years.
