STAFF and children at Walkhampton Pre-school were pleased recently after receiving the results of their recent Ofsted inspection.

The pre-school was judged to be good in all areas. Comments included that the school 'provides a stimulating range of activities for children' and 'partnerships with parents are strong'.

The inspector particularly praised the behaviour of the children, saying: 'They are happy and feel secure in the school. They are developing good social skills and play well together. They learn to share, take turns and to be considerate towards others.'

The inspection also mentioned the many animals brought into the pre-school such as the lambs, lizards and chicks.

Also highlighted was the great outdoor facilities such as the playhouse, seating areas and vegetable planters where the children have grown potatoes, peas, herbs and strawberries.

The pre-school also enjoys direct access to the extensive play park.
