POLLING day has arrived. Voters in the new Central Devon constituency will select the candidate they want as their MP at polling booths throughout the area.

There are five candidates standing: Bob Edwards (UK Independence Party), Phil Hutty (Liberal Democrat), Moira Macdonald (Labour), Colin Matthews (Green), Mel Stride (Conservative).

There are 111 polling stations throughout the new constituency and they are open from 7am to 10pm.

The counting of votes will start on Thursday night at Okehampton Community College Sports Hall and the result is expected between 4am and 5am tomorrow (Friday).
