WHY are our armed forces in Afghanistan? Is it to prevent the growing of the opium poppy plant and its illicit export? This is the pretext furnished by the Governments of the USA and UK. But the truth is that both governments are sure that there are large reserves of mineral oil in Afghanistan which both governments are determined to get their greasy hands on. Time will tell..
