Owners Julie Leivers and Damien Pease were delighted with the awards, having bought the business just two and a half years ago without any previous experience in the hospitality sector.
Julie said: 'For the past 40 years, The Horn of Plenty has enjoyed an outstanding reputation for quality food.
'We wanted to build on that, and create a reputation as a small country house hotel for foodies.
'These awards demonstrate that we are well on the way to achieving that goal.
'We have a hugely experienced front of house team, many of whom have worked here for decades.
'They know our customers, and they look after them superbly. Our sincere thanks go to each of them.'
The judges praised the hotel for its 'definite unique wow factors, particularly with regard to the views, the general ambience, the food offering, the reputation — and an immediate cared-for feel'.
They were also impressed by the 'experience of the taste and flavours, along with the presentation'.
The award comes after the hotel was awarded 'Best Fine Dining Restaurant' by Food and Drink Devon last month.
Earlier in the year they won two awards for 'Front of House Team of the Year' and 'Culinary Expertise South West Chef of the Year' by Exeter and Heart of Devon Hotels and Restaurants Association.
