A SIX-year-old parish plan in Calstock is being updated, following a questionnaire to the public.
Some 206 people responded to the survey after they were asked what they wanted the parish council to spend its money on.
The six items selected from the parish plan were bus shelters, a map of parish footpaths, a free parish council newsletter, new or refurbished play equipment, an annual community tidy-up scheme or a local employment surgery.
The results showed that the annual community tidy-up scheme was the only item from this list that continued to be a strong priority, with 125 people wanting to see this happen.
A total of 102 people wanted a map of footpaths, 80 said new play equipment was a priority and 75 a local employment surgery.
The questionnaire also had two free text questions, asking for other priorities and for anything else people would like to see changed or improved in the parish over the next five years.
Improved road safety and litter control came out as the other main priorities.
The parish council said it would be updating its parish plan, looking at active partnership working with Cornwall Council on highways matters and other agencies and looking at producing a parish plan.
Council chairman Dick Hoile said the authority would also be thinking about providing some provision for the teenagers.
'We hope to work on a consultation to find out what the teenagers would like,' he said.
