TIDY Tavi enters its fourth year of litter picking in Tavistock next Saturday, November 1. Teams will gather at the Meadowlands Café at 10am before setting out to litter pick.

A spokesman for Tidy Tavi said: 'Casual observation suggests that there is quite a lot of litter mixed in with fallen leaves along many of the town's streets. This is unsightly but can also block drains and culverts causing local flooding in times of heavy rain.

'Council operatives try their best to counter this problem with the limited resources available but local volunteers can make a crucial difference. Why not support your local community by coming along to help? Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome to join in and make some new friends at the same time.'

Tidy Tavi is considering introducing an additional midweek gathering once per month. Further announcements will be made soon.
