THE headteacher of Hatherleigh School has thanked all those those involved in making its outdoor learning week such a great event for the pupils.

Caroline Boother said the week had been 'exhilarating, exciting and educational'.

'It has been wonderful to listen to the children's recounts of their days and to hear of their achievements as well as to see the happiness and pride on their faces,' she said.

'On behalf of the children I would like to thank everyone who helped to make it such a success – to all the staff, the volunteers, our work experience students, Penny Westlake at Alder Farm, the Dartmoor National Park Rangers, Okehampton Youth Hostel and, most importantly, to Hatherleigh School Association who helped us to fund the week.'
