BELSTONE Village Hall is to host an old-fashioned race night on Friday, November 1.

Much more involved than TV race nights, the event involves rolling the dice and moving six coloured wooden horses up and down a board for a series of handicaps, hurdles, flat races and steeplechases. The event has been organised by Belstone Cricket Club.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children under 11, and available from Peter Hammond on 01837 840234. The price includes a first drink and a hot-pot supper with baked potato. There will be a licensed bar, and the event begins at 7pm.
