THRILL seekers flocked to Meldon Viaduct last Saturday, to take part in the Big Oke Abseil.

The event, organised by Adventure Okehampton, was part of Active Dartmoor Week. Around 20 brave individuals tested their head for heights by lowering themselves over 100 fet from the viaduct to the River Okement.

The week's programme of events, co-ordinated by the Dartmoor Partnership, was designed to showcase the wide variety of activities to take part in and things to see on the spectacular landscape.

For every abseiler, Adventure Okehampton made a donation to the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team, raising around £70 for the organisation.
