THE world's oldest Wall of Death rider, 80-year old Jerry De Roye, thrilled crowds at Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre, Lifton, last weekend. The Ken Fox Wall of Death Troupe entertained large crowds on both days, with Jerry, who is listed in the Guinness book of records as the oldest Wall of Death rider, appearing in every show. Alongside him was the world's youngest rider, Alex Fox, 14. Jerry was interviewed at Dingles by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky Sports. A Scottish production company filmed a TV documentary about the wall over the two days. On Sunday afternoon, Ken took a brave volunteer up on the wall on his handlebars. The stunt by the Harley Davidson Club was to raise cash for the Children's Hospice South West. The Wall first appeared on British fairgrounds in 1928 and The Fairground Heritage Trust thought it was time to celebrate the 80th anniversary.
