TWELVE young adventurers from Tavistock who tackled the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales to raise money for charity recently presented a cheque for more than £1,000 to Help for Heroes at a special evening to celebrate their achievement.
Following four months of training on Dartmoor, the members of Devon County Council run Tavistock Adventure Group, all aged between 14 and 18, pushed themselves to the limits, climbing more than 11,000 feet in a gruelling 26-mile hike up Ben Nevis in Scotland, Skafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales over three consecutive days.
