THREE sixth formers from Mount House School, Wilf Hadow, Max Hayward and Elsa Kent, have won all-rounder scholarships to Bryanston School in Dorset. Max Hayward has also been awarded a music exhibition to Bryanston.

Wilf Hadow is head boy of Mount House. He is captain of the Devon Prep Schools rugby team and of the Mount House First XV, and a goalkeeper for the hockey First VII.

He is also an excellent musician, playing the saxophone and singing in the Mount House 'Voicebox' singing group.

Max Hayward has represented Mount House at first team level in rugby, hockey and cricket. He has also played for the school golf team. Max plays cricket for West Devon and is a member of Tavistock Rugby Club. He has been head chorister since the start of the year, was selected for the National Sinfonia Orchestra and has won numerous music competitions both with his singing and trumpet.

Elsa Kent played for the U13 'A' hockey team as well as the first netball and rounders teams. As an athlete, she won the Stover cross-country race at U11 level in 2010. She qualified for the National Prep Schools' championships at 1500m at U12 level. She will play 'Hermia' in this year's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. She has excelled in spoken English and public speaking competitions. She also enjoys music, playing the guitar and being involved in the musical theatre and 'Voicebox'.

Elsa enjoys horse riding, and regularly competes in one-day eventing competitions either with her local pony club or at Winkleigh or inter-schools events.
