A DECISION on the proposed biomass power station at Winkleigh could still be a further three months away. Torridge planners hope to take a step forward next week by meeting the applicants, Peninsula Power Ltd, to clarify issues which have arisen from the council?s own report and internal legal review on the controversial £40-million project. Andy Seaman, head of planning services, said last week: ?We are now in a position to meet Peninsula to put certain points to them. ?Once we have heard their response, we will consult with interested parties before reaching our decision on the application. This may take a further three months. ?We realise that this is now becoming a lengthy process, but we are anxious that, while our decision is a professional one in planning terms, it is also seen to be fair to all sides involved.?
