SHAPING Devon's rural future will be discussed at a conference being organised by three of Devon's key charitable organisations.

The Community Council of Devon, Devon Association of Community Buildings (DACB) and Devon Playing Fields Association (DPFA), will bring together individuals and community groups, public bodies, voluntary sector organisations and private enterprise alike to share information and ideas, and to inspire and enable Devon's communities and those who serve them.

The conference 'Rural Futures: Working Together' will be held at Exeter Racecourse on Friday, September 28.

Throughout the day delegates will have the opportunity to hear keynote speaker Sara Eppel, DEFRA's head of rural communities policy unit and John Lee, chairman of Devon County Agricultural Association as well as a chance to take part in two workshops.

There will also be opportunities to network and to visit a market place of suppliers and services that will be of interest to those living in rural communities and an awards ceremony will be held to celebrate some of the wonderful work the people of Devon do.
