PLAYING against a strong wind Bere's defence excelled and stifled high riding St Austell.

Only some over elaborate football kept the score to a solo R Hann goal as he chested down a throughball to turn his marker to smash home.

It was one way traffic with some really good football and spurned chances. S Daymond scored a cracker, St Austell's keeper's goal kick was smashed right back past him as it landed.

More pressure and Daymond reacted quickest to a loose ball to fire home.

His hat-trick came via a scorching free kick to leave the keeper rooted to the spot.

B Rushall got in on the act being put through and in a race with the keeper got to the ball first to leave him stranded to walk the ball home.

S Vanstone scored number six. Volleying home with almost the last kick St Austell scored a consolation goal.
