WITH the cold weather, many of us have probably been feeding the birds in our gardens, but could we have done more?

Garden Birdwatch has been running since 1995 and grows in importance each year. The scheme collects and collates simple records of birds householders and birdwatchers see, allowing the British Trust for Ornithology to answer important questions about how, why and when birds use gardens and the resources they contain.

Martin Overy, garden and birdwatch ambassador for Devon from the British Trust for Ornithology will give a presentation to Okehampton U3A on this fascinating and vital subject.
